It’s not been the best week really. We had a nice weekend, making plans for getting our bathrooms replaced and spending time with my parents. Then Monday afternoon at work I started feeling weird. The only way to describe it is light headed but not like I am about to faint if that makes sense. Tuesday morning I thought I felt ok so went in to work but the same thing happened again. My colleagues were great and made me phone the midwives who asked me to come in to be checked over. I felt like I was wasting their time but they checked my bloods for anaemia and diabetes as well as monitored my blood pressure and checked on the baby’s heart beat. No cause could be found so it was suggested it was either hormones or a bug. I’ve been home with the ladybird the rest of the week. I’ve not felt light headed since but Wednesday I felt completely exhausted Thursday was a bit better but I started with a cold as well. At least this means the light headedness might be down to me fighting off a bug.
I’ve been re-reading lots of interiors magazines this week getting ideas for our new bathrooms. I’ve also been keeping up with my blog reading. This post really resonated with me What “being kind to yourself” really means as a mum.
I’ve been going to bed really early this week but I have managed to catch up with this weeks Greys and Stella (I loved both). I’ve been watching lots of vlogs on you tube too. One that really stood out this week was The Michalaks Caribbean cruise. Just wow! There videography is just amazing and I could really do with so winter sun right now.
We heard we can get our bathrooms replaced starting work on 21st March. It was meant to be one of the first things we did when we moved in last year but found over things needed doing more urgently (windows and replacing our car). Then it looked like it would have to wait until after I went back to work next summer (a long way off with a bathroom that neither looks nice or functions well). We started making enquiries a few weeks back and here we are. Tomorrow we are going to the bathroom shop to finalised our order and then its just 2 weeks until the work starts.
Nothing exciting to share here I’m afraid.
Last Friday I had a busy afternoon in the kitchen. I made these healthy snacks from My lovely little lunch box. The toddler loved them and did not notice the lack of sugar which is always a bonus. I’ve enjoyed snacking on them too and it doesn’t feel as bad as eating cake! Don’t get me wrong they do not taste as good as cake but for a healthy treat they are good.
Inspired by these snacks, I made my usual pizza bases with 1/3 wholemeal flour. Again no one noticed or complained so I might up the wholemeal content further.
I also almost finished our bedroom curtains last weekend. Once they are finished, ironed and up I will share a photo. My husband also painted our living room chimney breast this gorgeous turquoise colour. I love it but it does show up how much the rest of the room really needs decorating too. There is no way all the jobs I want doing will be done before this baby arrives though (still haven’t started on its room either).
I had to change my finish date at work slightly this week. It means I won’t have totally finished work now until 26th April as I am going in on the 25th/26th to do slightly shorter days which will be purely handover meetings with a colleague (who will be on leave when I was due to finish). It does mean that I will finish work (other than these meetings) on the 11th April and I have some days off in between now and then. After how I have been feeling this week I can’t wait to finish work.
I’ve got a busy week next week so I plan to take it easy this weekend in the hope I feel well enough for work on Monday.
