Easter gifts for babies and toddlers

March 8, 2016

If you are looking for Easter gifts for babies and toddlers then look no further. Easter is just a few short weeks away and I’m starting to think what to get my almost three year old. Today though I thought I would share what I got her for her first Easter. To me, appropriate Easter gifts don’t just have to be about chocolate and eggs (although of course she does get some but it’s about moderation). Anything that with rabbits, ducks, farm animals all feel appropriate for me. So below is what I bought the ladybird for her first Easter when she was just 11 months old and right at the end I have shared some more ideas that are currently available to buy.

First I bought her a brightly coloured basket from our local supermarket (I’m sure they will all be selling similar again this year) and then I filled it with treats. I started with a set of plastic eggs which again all the shops will be selling at this time of year (they are great for activities and snacks too). She loved opening and closing these eggs as well as emptying the basket and then putting everything back again.

The ladybird has always loved animals so I bought her a set of Happyland farm animals from the Early Learning Centre. She loved them instantly and still plays with them two years on. I added a bag of chocolate buttons, some Easter decorations (wooden eggs), a soft toy bunny and some dribble bibs.

Finally, I couldn’t resist getting her a couple of books which would not fit in the basket. I bought peek-a-boo bunny (Holly Surplice) and That’s not my lamb. The best thing is, 2 years on we still have all these items (except the chocolate buttons) and they are still played with/read regularly.

  1. What great lists, I didn’t realise there were so many Easter themed books, I will have to invest in some 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing on #ToddlerApprovedTuesday

  2. Some lovely ideas on here. I had never heard of most of those Easter stories. I have been collecting bits for Soph’s basket. I got some egg shaped chalks from a shop called Tiger. #toddlerapprovedtuesdays

  3. Some fab ideas here. I love the basket you have put together. I hate buying chocolate eggs for easter when they are so small because even though I have no problem with them having chocolate they just end up with too many and I end up eating them! I may just get them an easter themed book and some of those eggs from the early learning centre this year. Thanks for sharing these ideas.

  4. These ideas are a really lovely alternative to chocolate. I’m sure any little one would be delighted to receive these at Easter. I’m glad to hear you are still getting use out of the gifts you bought at the time.

  5. Lovely ideas. We have the Tomy hide and squeak eggs and they get played with all the time here. Thank you for the book recommendations. We don’t have any Easter books so I need to invest in some.

  6. Oh such great ideas here! I think it’s nice to get a selection of little things & not just sweets & chocolate. They don’t need a basket of chocolate at any age! Thanks so much for sharing with us at #bloggerclubuk x
