Little loves

Holiday, preschool graduation and almost a toddler #littleloves

July 28, 2017

I missed last weeks little loves as we were on holiday so these are my little loves from the past 2 weeks. We started the fortnight with my eldest’s preschool graduation after which we drove over to Anglesey for 8 days. We had 3 gorgeous sunny days, one day where it rained none stop and 4 days which were cooler and included some rain but we were at least able to get out. We had a lovely week exploring. Anyone with children will know holidays with under 5s aren’t the most relaxing. Not helped by both girls getting a nasty cough. E’s sleep was worse than ever but we made the best of it and enjoyed lots of family adventures. Unfortunately, my husband started feeling unwell on our last day and has been off work sick this week. Most of my little loves are from last week as this week has mainly been working, laundry and poorly people.

Read

I found a little time to read whilst we were away but not a lot. I finished last month’s The Simple Things magazine and read a few pages of The year of living Danishly which I think I started last summer. There’s a chapter for each month, I’m still in May!

Watched

E started letting go of the furniture whilst standing if she distracted by something she’s picked up. We’ve also watched her take a step or two on her own. She also started blowing kisses whilst we were away, very cute.

Made

Not a lot. I made sand castles with F at the beach. We ate our or cooked simple meals when on holiday.
I did find time to make some plans whilst away. I always find while on holiday I think and plan more. I set up my bullet journal for August since I’d not used it in July anyway. F starts school in September so there will be less time for adventures but we are determined to fit in plenty of family fun. I’ve been planning some for my days off in August.
I also made a blog plan. I have lots of things I want to improve on here still so now I have a complete list I can work through when ever I get a bit of time. I’ve also decided to start writing a monthly round up of our adventures and join in with My family adventures. This linky is perfect for me but I always forget and then don’t have time to write a post. Not this month, I just need to add this weekends adventures and it will be live on Monday. I’m going to keep trying to write it throughout next month.

Wore

I have to hand this one over to F for her preschool graduation. All the children wore caps and gowns and sat at the front of a hall. They put on an amazing (and emotional) 30 minute show. They sang lots of songs about growing up which brought a tear to my sentimental eye.

Heard

As well as all the songs I heard F sing I also heard what she wants to be when she grows up. All the children had drawn pictures of what they want to be. Her says king on the back but on the day, when she stood up in front of everyone and was asked, she said bat. I cried with laughter. It’s not a big surprise really as her favourite dressing up costume is a bat one from Halloween.
I’ve also heard E joining in with nursery rhymes this week. She loves row, row, row your boat and rocks back and forth. She also roars and screams at the right place (although they sound the same). The cutest part is her acting out shivering.

And lastly ….

I’m very excited to tell you we have been invited to review The Snowman live tour this December. I love The snowman and this tour is a screen showing of The Snowman and a brand new short animation, accompanied by a live orchestra. You can find out more here and book tickets too. I’ll have a full post to tell you more about it next week.

  1. Despite the weather & illness, your trip to Anglesey sounds like it went well. I look forward to reading your wrap of monthly adventures – I love reading those types of posts.

Ah, you’ve reminded me I still need to set my bullet journal up for August.

A happy weekend to you and your family.

  2. I’m glad you all had a good time away but how rubbish with all the illness! That preschool graduation looks like the absolute CUTEST – the little cap and gown! So so cute. And how awesome about The Snowman, well done! Hope you have a great weekend x #LittleLoves

  3. Aww F looks absolutely adorable in her cap and gown! And how cute is E toddling about! Sounds like Anglesey was just what you all needed and a beautiful place too! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend x

  4. Oh my goodness, F is so cute in her graduation outfit!
Well done on getting all organised, I’m sadly lacking in that department and must get back on track. I find the holidays such a juggle.
