Home Life Project June

The months are flying by. How is it June already? This post goes live on my first day back at work after maternity leave. The past 13 months have flown by in a sleep deprived haze!

I took this month’s home life photos on Saturday, even though we were out more than at home. Sunday was more of a home day but I needed to be able to edit the photos and write the post. I think going forward, all my home life projects will have to be Saturdays.

The first Saturday was another glorious sunny day so we made the most of it with a trip to Lyme park (national trust). We are certainly making the most of our membership. We joined at Easter and have visited 6 different places (plus 2 repeat trips to our nearest woodland). As a family, we love getting out and about exploring and being national trust members makes it so easy. So far we tend not to go in the houses but we love how family friendly the grounds and gardens are. At lyme park we found an amazing play area and an area for children to play badminton within the gardens.

I made a quick turkey mince ragu for tea and we enjoyed it in the garden. Just before putting the girls to bed, F enjoyed a little play in the garden and helped me water our plants. I’m growing strawberries, sunflowers and sweet peas with her.

All too soon it was bath and bedtime for the girls. Our youngest turns one this week and is a terrible sleeper. We’ve decided to try to teach her to self settle using some gentle methods. It took only 20 minutes the first night but Saturday night took 2 hours.

This month’s creative prompt is “growing”. I think a few of these photos would fit my interpretation of growing.

You can find May’s Home Life Project here. Hopefully I’ll be back for july’s home life project once we are settled in to our new routine.

  1. Gosh, back to work already! I do hope you are finding it enjoyable rather than stressful as it can be hard work settling into a new routine and getting everyone where they are supposed to be on time. I also struggle with taking the photos on a Sunday and getting the post ready on time, but I’m not entirely sure what the solution is!
