I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas. Ours was busy but lovely (apart from the girls being full of cold, again). We’ve been staying with family since Christmas day and are heading home today. It’s been lovely but I’m looking forward to getting home.
I got 4 book for Christmas. Yes, even The Christmasaurs was bought for me! I’m really looking forward to reading and using these books soon.
Tinkerlab and rainbow bakes were my gifts from my daughters. I’m more than happy to receive gifts from them that are partly for them. I look forward to trying the activities from Tinkerlab with them and I suspect birthday cakes will be rainbow themed this year.
I watched the Stella christmas special which has got me ready for the new series which I assume is coming soon. We watched The bear hunt with my daughters and of course The snowman. My eldest also watched a couple of Christmas films which I caught bits of whilst doing other things. She was particularly taken with Santa Claus the movie (with Dudley Moore), a favorite from my childhood too.
Of course I watched My daughters open there christmas presents too. At 3 years old my oldest has loved it, it really has been lovely to watch. Last year I think she was a bit overwhelmed but this year she was in heaven! She even opened most of the babies presents too. Surprisingly we had to remind her on Christmas day morning that it was Christmas day! Once she realised though she
Whilst my youngest was completely oblivious to Christmas, we did notice on Christmas day that she is starting to reach out for people to pick her up and also raise her arm to wave in response to us.
I love Christmas music and the sound track to our Christmas has been The simple things Christmas playlist.
Since we’ve been away so much I’ve not made that much this week. I did ice my Christmas cake on Christmas Eve though. Cake decorating is not something I’m very good at unfortunately.
I bought some beautiful clothes for my daughters in the Frugi online sale. I bought the size based on their age suspecting they would be too big. I was the right but I am happy to wait for these beautiful clothes to fit. I love the bright colours. My eldest tried on hers and didn’t want to take them off! She’s never had frugi before. I think it’s true that if children designed clothes they would look like this.
We were supposed to be going to a family party on New Years Eve but I don’t think we will make it. The tiny one is taking a long time to settle at night these last few nights and then waking every couple of hours, thanks to her cold. It doesn’t seem worth going, for me to spend most of the evening feeding and settling a baby. I can’t say I’m that bothered by New year’s eve but I do enjoy spending time with family. She’s not that bothered by her cold in the day so I suspect we’ll just go up for the day on New Year’s day. Finally I’d like to wish you all a happy new year.
