The weeks seem to be flying by now. These last two weeks I have still had nausea some days and still feel more tired than pre-pregnancy but on the plus side I have only been sick once. I had my 16 week midwife appointment where reassuringly all my tests came back fine and I got to hear the babies heart beat for the first time. The midwife said she thought the baby was doing somersaults at the time presumably due to the sounds of fluid moving that you could clearly hear. It really was lovely and very reassuring to hear babies heart beating away.
I think my bump has grown a little over the last two weeks and certainly these last few days I have felt lots of stretching sensations. My husband has started talking to the bump which is very cute and I sort of had my first craving. I woke up in the middle of the night once and announced to my husband I was craving chocolate Philadelphia and even at the time I said I don’t know why as I really don’t like the sound of it! I can’t say I have had any real cravings though in my waking hours.
After the disappointing maternity wear shopping experience I had in Manchester I decided to give online shopping ago and ordered these two dresses from ASOS maternity. They’re still too big for me to wear at present but I love them and will definitely be having another look at their collection (this is not a sponsored post, I paid for these dresses myself but I wanted to share as so far this is my favorite maternity collection). We also bought a couple more colourful unisex sleepsuits for babies. We are still not planning on finding out the sex of baby at the 20 week scan but shopping for unisex clothes doesn’t half tempt me some times, everything is so beige and I really like colour! On the positive side perhaps it will stop us buying too many clothes that baby will grow out of in the first few weeks. We know we are bound to get gifts of gender specific clothes and the availability of baby clothes in the local supermarket and online will mean we can easily buy what we need in those early days.
Last weekend we went to look at prams. A sales person demonstrated a few that I liked the look of online for us and also suggested the Graco Evo that I hadn’t heard of before due to how lightweight it is. I really liked the lightness of it but my OH thought it might be too flimsy. Being a new pram there aren’t that many reviews of it yet. I have to say we came out of the shop more confused than when we went in! Thankfully we have plenty of time to find the right pram for us.
