What the ladybird wore – Trespass girls waterproof jacket review

April 25, 2016

Recently we were sent the fairies girls waterproof jacket (from Trespass) to review. We’ve been testing it out for a couple of weeks now and so far we love it. This jacket is perfect for this time of year when winter jackets are getting too warm. The jacket is windproof and the body and hood have a lovely light fleece lining providing some warmth when needed. Of course, the jacket is waterproof too to 3000 mm. The seams are taped to ensure the jacket is waterproof and to help protect against winds too.IMG_5058IMG_5087.jpg

The hood is detachable but I can confirm it keeps the rain off well as we have been caught in a couple of heavy rain showers whilst wearing the jacket. I love the colourful design and the contrasting turquoise zip. Whilst white might not be the obvious choice for toddler clothes, the fabric is easy to wipe clean and I can confirm it washes and dries well too. The ladybird fell in a patch of very muddy grass whilst wearing this jacket and as such, it had to go straight in the wash. It came out as good as new and dried quickly too.IMG_5112

The ladybird is going to be 3 later this week but she is small for her age so I ordered the 2-3 years size and as you can see it is very big on her. I suspect it would fit most 2 year olds though. If you are unsure what size to get there is a very helpful size guide on the website.

There is a great deal of attention to detail with the jacket such as studded pockets on the front, adjustable cuffs, elastic at the waist sides creating a great shape to the jacket, high collar, poppers to make the hood smaller and the cover over the top of the zip and also where the hood velcros on to the collar. There is also a reflective triangle on the back to aid visibility at night.IMG_5083.jpg

Overall, we are very pleased with this jacket which I can see getting a lot of wear from now until the autumn. It’s perfect for keeping the ladybird warm and dry when the British weather doesn’t always do what we want. We love to go to the park, days out, walks and holiday in the UK so this coat is a very useful addition to the ladybird’s wardrobe.IMG_5115.jpg

Fairies girls jacket retails at £51.99. Tresspass also have more girls waterproof jackets in lots of designs if this one is not to your taste.

Disclosure: I was sent this jacket free of charge for the purposes of this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, as are the photos.
