If you are a mother or father in charge of the cooking for your family, you are probably often stumped for ideas, and you end up producing the same things every time. Now, there is, of course, absolutely nothing wrong with this, we just understand that you may get bored in the kitchen from time to time. Taking this into account, what if we told you that you could add a little chef style, sophistication, and excitement to your dishes and it’s all very easy to do. The first thing you have to remember when it comes to cooking chef-quality food is, it’s not as complicated as you may think. Chefs have a habit of making things sound complicated as it feeds their ego and ultimately makes you believe that you cannot do what they can. In this post, we are going to be taking a look at a few things you should and shouldn’t be doing with your food that can really make all the difference when it comes to getting an incredible flavour and look from everything you cook. Update The Way You Serve If you really want to find a little passion for food, you are first going to have to look at what you are serving on. When you go to a restaurant, and the food looks incredible, you will probably notice that it’s served on something simple and wonderful. Food needs to be treated like art, and the plates are the canvas. If you are thinking of adding a little something extra to your serving, then get searching online and look at things like the Le Creuset sale and before you know it, you will have the basis for incredible food. Don’t Be Afraid Of Seasoning. When most people ask the question as to why their food doesn’t taste like it did that time the ate at a local restaurant, the answer is usually quite simple; it seems that most people that cook are terrified of seasoning food. The truth is, while some people think it takes away from what the food is, it’s actually quite the opposite to that. If we look at something like beef, the salt simply dissolves into a brine. The brine itself then helps break down the fibres and fats of the meat. All of this is then part of a reabsorption process which gives the beef an explosion of flavour. Cook Low And Slow The final thing we are going to be talking about is cooking things low and slow. Another huge mistake that many home cooks make is that they rush the food. Now, we should first say that yes, some things do require a little intense heat, but the majority of cooking should never be rushed. The slower you take things, the more intense the flavour will be. This rule should be applied to meats like beef and lamb; you should also be doing this with sauces and reductions. Hopefully, just by following these little tips, you will find that your food changes almost instantly. While these tips are basic, they really will make a world of difference to your food.
