North West
We are based in Cheshire in the North West so as you can imagine I have quite a bit of content on days out in the North West. You can find it all here Family days out North West

North East
We love exploring Hadrian’s wall. YHA The Sill at Hadrian’s Wall is a fantastic place to stay in the area.
Our favourite attraction is The Sill National landscape discovery centre. A fantastic, interactive and free exhibition.
This is definitely an area of the country we want to go back and explore more of.
Yorkshire
I grew up in Yorkshire and still have family there so we visit frequently. I love Yorkshire and there are so many great days ut for families.
Days out Yorkshire
There are lots of great days out for families in Yorkshire. These are the favourites that we’ve discovered so far.
We love York as there are so many things to do in York with kids.
We loved York’s chocolate story.

Kirklees light railway is perfect if you have any little train fans.
We love days spent at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, I’ve been visiting since I was a child.
Eureka! the National Children’s Museum is amazing for young children.
Possibly my favourite National Trust property is Fountains Abbey and Studley Water gardens.
Another fantastic sculpture garden in Yorkshire is, Himalayan gardens and sculpture park
Family holidays Yorkshire
If you’re looking for cheap hotels in york city centre then you need to read my review of Travelodge Micklegate York.
If you’re looking for boutique hotels York then look no further than The Churchill hotel York is lovely and even has family rooms.

Family days out West Midlands

For a magical family walk, head to Hawkstone Park Follies
Family days out in Staffordshire
We love the National Forest Adventure Farm Moon Landing Maze.
Their Christmas North Pole Experience is amazing too.
Another great family day out is Trentham Monkey Forest.
The nearby Trentham gardens are stunning with lots for kids to do.
A lovely family walk is Tittesworth Reservoir.
The play trail at Coombes valley is fantastic family fun.
There is a great family day out to be had at Shugborough Hall National Trust
Family holidays West Midlands
We enjoyed a weekend break as a family at Mercure Brandon Hall Hotel and Spa.
Berkshire

We love visiting Legoland Windsor.
We even managed to afford a stay in Legoland Windsor Resort hotel once (click through to find out how).
We usually stay in a nearby hotel occasionally in Windsor as there are so many things to do with kids in Windsor.

Surrey

Gloucestershire

We loved our visit to Slimbridge WWT. This attraction is great for outdoor-loving families. With lovely walks, 2 amazing play areas, 6 types of flamingo and lots of other wildlife attractions too. Find out more in my – Slimbridge wetland centre review.
If you’re in the Cotswolds and looking for a great family walk, you can’t go wrong with this Broadway tower walk from Broadway village. We love the playground in the village too.
Norfolk

Wales
We spend a lot of time in North Wales but we also love exploring further south.
Days out in Pembrokeshire
We love Pembrokeshire, it’s absolutely beautiful and there are so many things to do with kids in Pembrokeshire.
Folly farm is probably our favourite. More farm, zoo and adventure park.
Every May you’ll find the fantastic wellness festival, The big retreat Wales, find out all about the kid’s entertainment by clicking through.

Things to do with kids in the Gower
Find out how to get to Three Cliffs Bay beach here. It’s a stunning beach and worth the 1 mile walk to get there.
Days out with kids North Wales

We love Anglesey and visit often. There are so many great things to do with kids in Anglesey.
We love Greenwood family park which isn’t that far from Anglesey.
Penrhyn Castle is another fantastic National Trust not far from Anglesey.

Conwy is a fantastic place to visit with kids, find the best things to do with kids in Conwy here.

Scotland
Days out Scotland
We’ve barely scratched the surface of Scotland and there are so many more places we’d love to visit like the highlands and the Outer Hebrides. An absolute dream would be to do the North Coast 500 route.
We loved our week staying in North Berwick which is home to the Scottish Sea bird centre.
We also absolutely love visiting Edinburgh zoo with kids.
