Have you heard of sun protective clothing? We love spending time outside all year round but I am aware of the damage the sun can do to our skin. As such I take protecting my children from the sun’s harmful UV rays seriously. So I was thrilled to be asked to review Reima SunProof clothing. I headed to their website to choose an item of UV clothing for each of my girls and was impressed that they have a very extensive range. I chose a dress for my eldest and a swimsuit for my youngest.

Whilst I was choosing what to review for my daughters I had a good look around their website. I’ll admit that I hadn’t heard of Reima before being invited to review their range. I discovered the Reima is a brand that specialises in for active children and has been around since 1944. We share the same vision, to encourage kids to be active whatever the weather.
The range of clothes they stock is extensive and they love bright clothing as much as I do. I love that you can filter the clothing by the type of activity e.g. beach, play or rain. Such a fantastic idea that I’ve not noticed elsewhere. The clothes sizes are based on height and are designed to have 6cm of growing room, such a great idea with kids.
As soon as the clothing arrive I noticed the quality of the items. They were also packaged well to protect the clothing. My daughters were pleased with the colours and styles I chose too.
Kid’s Swimsuit Galapagos
For my youngest, I chose the Kids’ swimsuit Galapagos. This is part of their UV protection swimwear, a swimsuit that covers your child’s torso, arms to the elbow and legs to their knees. It’s made from elastic SunProof jersey which reflects away 98% of harmful UV rays even when wet. The fabric is fast drying, breathable and it even helps your child to feel cooler in the sun thanks to TiO2 that is inside the fibres (a safe and harmless white pigment, commonly found in toothpaste). The other thing we loved about this swimsuit is the long zip at the front that makes it easy to get on and off.

I can’t wait for her to wear this sun protection swimwear when we next go to the beach but the weather hasn’t been suitable on the weekends since we got this swimsuit. Instead, we’ve been testing it in our garden, in the sandpit and for water play. I love how the fabric moves with her and doesn’t restrict her in any way. We’ve had similar suits to this where the zip closure at the neck seems to bother her but so far this one hasn’t.
Juniors’ Dress Merelle
For my eldest, I chose Juniors’ Dress Merelle. This is a bright and colourful dress that I chose for my 6 year old daughter. We love the style and fit of the dress on her. She loves the large pockets and I can see her filling them full of shells on our next beach trip. It’s also made from an easy-care material with a UV 30+ sun protection factor. The material is designed to keep your child cool on hot days. It’s also breathable and designed to wick moisture away from the skin as well as being quick drying which is an added bonus.

We love the two items of clothing we have been trying out. They’re just our style and they are so practical for outdoor-loving kids. I’m pleased to tell you that the dress is currently in their summer sale as well as lots of other great items. So head over to Reima now to grab yourself a bargain.
Don’t forget no matter how protected (from the sun’s rays) your children are with UV protective clothing it’s still a good idea to seek shade between 11 am and 3 pm. Don’t forget the suncream, hats and sunglasses.

Disclosure: These items of clothing were gifted to us by Reima in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and photos are my own.

I really like the kids swimsuit – the sun protection gives such peace of mind and I like that the zip is at the front, so that potty training toddlers can get the suit off themselves 🙂
The swimsuit is gorgeous and so practical.
What a great item of clothing! Especially this week with the sun doing its upmost to damage our skin if we stay out too long!
It is very suitable for this hot weather.
Love the look of the dress in particular and great that’s in the sale – off to check it out!
There’s a lot of gorgeous bit in their sale.
I love that they are so cute as well as practical. Sometimes cute and practical don’t go hand in hand.
I hope now the weather is picking up you’ll get lots of use out of them x
I’m sure we will. I agree, it’s great that they’re practical and cute.
I hadn’t heard of this brand either! What a great idea, especially in this intense sunshine at the moment, it’s so important to protect their skin.
We’re off to Greece in a few weeks and I’ve been looking for sun safe clothes. These looks great and colourful!
I had sun protective suits for my boys when we lived in Germany, as it got so hot there over the summer and we spent a lot of time outside at splash pads etc.
That sounds and looks great. I am so much concerned with my kids as they spend most of their day playing outdoor. So important to have this for them.
This is what I really need for my kids. They are very active and always wants an outdoor activities.
