Top UK Breaks Away With The Kids

Collaborative post

With lot of disruption to the travel industry, travelling abroad with your children may be a no go. Once lockdown restrictions have been eased, a staycation may be on the cards to get away with the family. Or maybe you could do a special holiday outside in your garden? Below are five ways to have a break away with your kids, from a garden holiday to holiday parks.

Villa Holiday

There are many places in the Uk which are ideal for a staycation. If you prefer to steer clear of the city, a  break away in Cornwall or another small town or village should be on the cards. Why not hire a small villa out with your family and enjoy a break near the sandy beaches where you can be secluded on your own and safe. Family time is important so just spend quality time together going for walks, swim in the sea enjoying the cornish air.

Back Garden Holiday

If travelling away isn’t for you, why not have a staycation in your back garden. Set up some tents for you to stay in, mats on the floor to lay on a watch the stars, a fire pit in the garden for some smores and warmth and a wireless speaker to enjoy some music. Be creative and spend some time together as a family enjoy each other company. If you have some money spare due to cancelled holidays, treat yourself to a cheap hot tub and have a hot tub staycation in your back garden.

Holiday Villages

Have you ever been to Forest Holidays, Center Parcs or Butlins? A holiday village is a great way to have a breakaway with your family and experience something different. Most holiday villages are fun-packed with activities which you can do together, forget about the stresses everyday life involves and just refresh your mind. No matter your budget, there is always a holiday park that you can stay in.

Hotel Break

With fewer tourists around at the moment, now is the best time to book a city break. Most of the main attractions are quieter meaning you can get the best views and experience a city in a different way. Why not book a hotel for a few nights that is kid-friendly and enjoy some time away. Some hotels are offering kids explorer packs so that you can enjoy your time away as a family and your children feel involved and enjoy themselves.

Camping trip

It may be getting a little cold but that should not stop you. A camping trip is great for bringing a family together, getting some exercise, reducing stress and being at one with nature. You can wake up early and see some beautiful sunrises and enjoy the evening watching the sunset. If COVID is something that is worrying you, this is a great alternative as you won’t be around many people, and just forget about the pandemic for a minute. Find my tips for camping with toddlers here.

As you can see there are many ways you can still enjoy a breakaway with your family without having to travel abroad. If you are looking for some gift ideas for outdoors, have a read of my outdoor families gift guide.
