I love autumn so I have put together an autumn bucket list for our family. It’s full of outdoor activities for children. This is a list of all the things we could do together this autumn. I’ve included activities for my two children (15 months and 4 years), things I want to cook and family trips and activities. I hope the weather improves as it feels like it rains every day at the moment.
- Take a walk in the woods – I’m sure we’ll do this more than once. I love a walk in the wood at any time of year but I love visiting in the autumn when the leaves are changing colour.

- Make a nature scavenger hunt for F (my 4 year old daughter)
- Collect leaves to use for sensory play and crafts (if we ever have enough dry days to let them dry out).
- Carve a pumpkin.
- Take F trick or treating.
- Take the kids to my friend’s Halloween party.
- Let the girls jump in piles of leaves and puddles.
- Watch some fireworks – I love fireworks. I’m not sure whether we’ll go to a display or not this year. We missed last year with E being only 5 months old. I can’t make my mind up if she’s still too young this year. F was pretty underwhelmed last year when I took her for a walk to see some. She asked when she could go to bed!
- Spend a morning at forest school.
- Collect “autumn treasures” – that’s what F called conkers, acorns and pine cones last year.

- Plan and enjoy our week in the Lake District. We love the Lakes and I can not wait to go back this autumn.
- Go for a walk at Dunham Massey.
- Watch the girls jump in leaves and muddy puddles.
- Drink hot chocolate.
- Make autumn play dough.
- Set up an autumn tuff spot for the girls.
- Read autumn picture books to my daughters.
- Make an apple crumble.
- Make homemade soup.
- Plant spring bulbs.
- Have an autumn picnic.
I’m sure I will be sharing blog posts or just Instagram photos as we tick things off our list. I shared this post last year about all our autumn adventures if you want further inspiration. Have you made an autumn bucket list? I love to hear what is on yours.
Pin for later:

I like the other seasons too. I do love autumn for the colours and all the family activities.
It sounds like we are quite similar. We had a lovely walk in the woods yesterday.
I agree, I love summer too and it seemed to stop early this year. I was reluctant to give up on summer at first but now I’m ready to embrace autumn.
I love autumn – its my favorite season and like you i love doing al those activities with my family – not too sure who enjoys them most – me or the kids 🙂
I think it might be me in this house. Closely followed by by eldest.
Autumn is my favourite time of year. I love these ideas, especially the Autumn play dough! X
Thanks. My eldest loves play dough.
Yay what a fun bucket list. We carve pumpkins every year. There was a Halloween party in the community center last year that was really fun, hopefully, we will be able to attend that again this year. x
I hope the halloween party is on again for you.
Looks like autumn is gonna be a lot of fun,I hope You get to tick all of them 🙂

This is a great bucket list. We are waiting to move house so I feel like real life is on hold until we move and can revert back to some kind of normal!!
I’ve been there. I hope the move happens soon!
fab list! I’m yet to do ours. We love going on scavenger hunts and collecting bits and bobs for crafts too 🙂 x
Scavenger hunts and autumn crafts are so much fun.
I’m such a summer girl, but I do fully embrace Autumn. The conkers, the hot chocolate, the cosiness of it. What isn’t there to like? A great list and so many that we will be doing too x
I love summer too but all the fun activities in autumn do make the transition a bit easier.
Those wellies are so adorable! We actually did a scavenger hunt in the forest today and jumped about in puddles. I’m looking forward to bonfire night! It’s my one of my favourite nights of the year.

Hi, Claire! This is a great list! I`m sure other people gain some inspiration from it as much as I did. There`re so many fun things to do in this time of year. I was wondering, now that a winter is here, did you done all of the things on this bucket list and what your kids liked the most?
