Summer is one of my favourite seasons for outdoor activities for children. It’s definitely easier to get kids outdoors when the weather is better. Summer months involve the long summer holidays too so we certainly need plenty of ideas up our sleeves to entertain the kids on long summer days. Here are lots of summer outdoor activities for kids to enjoy.

I’ve included plenty of ideas for fun things to do outside at home as well as some ideas that you can do if you are lucky enough to be able to go on a day out to the beach or even just on a walk.
Summer outdoor activities for kids
It's never too late to start gardening with children. If you've left it too late to plant certain fruit and vegetables then how about planting some quick-growing salad leaves? or you could start planning your winter vegetables.

Hapa zome is a great outdoor nature craft to try this summer. It's a classic forest school activity.
Just because schools are closed for the summer doesn't mean that kids should be doing no learning at all. There are so many fun educational things you can do outside and the best bit is your kids might not even realise they are learning.
