This is another picture book that spells out the climate change problem and how we can play our part. It's a smaller book than Climate action but the illustrations are still colourful and my kids like the speech bubble in the book.

This book goes right back to the start, 2.3 billion years ago right through to today. We love the little coloured tag at the bottom of the page which easily shows where the story is in history.

This book is a lovely book about how we can bring nature back. The story is set on a farm where the farmers use chemicals and expensive machines to deal with weeds etc. One day they have the idea to sell all their machines and chemicals and let nature come back. Soon wildflowers come back bringing insects with them. Not everyone is impressed by their wildflowers but the neighbours are soon won over when the unploughed fields soak up stormwater preventing flooding.

A lovely story with a couple of pages of facts on rewilding at the end of the book too.

This picture book has been a favourite in our house for a year or so now. It's a story about Greta who lives in a beautiful forest which is threatened by giants. Can Greta make these giants see the beauty in her woodland and stop them from destroying it?

Another beautiful picture book that we love is Lula and the sea monster. Join Lula as she prepares to move house as developers want to build a beach from road, right where her house is. Whilst at the beach she makes friends with a tiny creature. As the days go by she takes care of him and watches him grow. Come moving day the developers are in for a big surprise when the sea monster decides to repay his favour to Lula.

Another conservationist that I had to include is of course David Attenborough. Like I mentioned before, I love this series of books for making biographies accessible to children. This one is no exception and is a great addition to your child's bookshelves.

I couldn't write a post on books about climate change for kids without including some books about Greta Thunberg. Children really feel inspired by her story as she's a child herself. We love the little people big dreams series and this one doesn't disappoint with how it summarises Greta's story.

This is a board book, packed with lift the flap elements that children love. Again it is a fact-based book covering everything children need to know about plastic, recycling and the effects of plastic on our environment.

This is a really fun fiction picture book about Rocket who is off to try to save a Caribbean island from plastic pollution. It's great for empowering children that it's not too late and we can make a difference. It sensitively covers the environmental issue of plastic pollution in a way that is perfect for young kids.

This is another colourful, informational book, packed with bite-sized facts about waste and how we can help by recycling etc. This one is written by Jess French who your kids might be familiar with from Cbeebies.

This book is aimed at older children (7-12 years approximately). It's another book about Greta and like little people big dreams, it is a biography style read but this one is longer and aimed at older children. It's printed on FSC-certified paper and inside it is purely black and white.

This is a beautifully illustrated, full-colour book with 20 inspiring stories celebrating the work of Earth Heroes all over the world.

Definitely one for slightly older children who enjoy non-fiction stories. My 7 year old loves it.

There are some you will of heard of like David Attenborough and Greta Thunberg and many more from people you might not have heard of but that are equally as inspiring.
