Taking A Safe Approach To International Holidays

Going on holiday right now can be a very risky thing to do, even if you’re planning on taking a ‘staycation’ and just visiting local sights and attractions. However, if you have big plans for international trips on the horizon, because you want your kids to see and experience the world from a young age, you’re going to have to take a very safe and level headed approach to travel.

Whilst that can be a hard thing to manage in theory, in practice, it’s a lot more workable than you might think! By following official advice, and staying away from anywhere on the ‘red list’ right now, you’re still in with a chance of taking the family on a good international holiday this summer.

Pack Hygiene Items

You’re going to want to stay as clean as possible whilst travelling, and that means packing as many hygiene items as possible, such as small bottles of antibacterial gel, wet wipes, and spare face masks.

These items will help to ensure that if your child touches something they shouldn’t, or if you suddenly find yourself in a crowded area, you’ll be able to minimise the risk both situations pose. And thankfully, it’s much easier to invest in such items than it was a year ago!

Get a Test Done

Of course, one of the best things to do before you even arrive at the airport is to test for COVID-19 early, which can easily be done at home now. Indeed, you can order a specialised Fit to Fly COVID-19 PCR Test to ensure you can get onboard a plane in the first place, and these tests can even be easy to administer to children too.

Mainly, you want to be sure you’re not leaving the house (and country) when you should be self-isolating at home. You want to be sure you’re not risking those around you, especially because you’ll be cooped up on a plane for hours at a time. So put your mind at ease, take a test, and make sure you’re ready to have a good time as a family!

Get Plenty of Fresh Air

It’s been shown that COVID-19 can spread easier indoors than it does outdoors, thanks to just how many particles can hang in the air in such a confined space. And because of this, it’s a good idea to try and get outside as much as possible during your travels, whether you’re heading through an airport and decide against the shuttle bus, or you’ve just touched down and are thinking about hailing down a taxi.

The kids certainly won’t mind being able to stretch their legs a bit more! You’ll just have to premeditate these decisions ahead of time, and be sure that any bags or suitcases you’re carrying aren’t too heavy for walking with.

International holidays don’t have to be put off again. If you really want to go, and the kids are so excited to, pack right and follow the guidelines.
