Containment, Peter Rabbit and baby wearing #littleloves

We had a busy weekend last weekend seeing both sets of grandparents. Then I had a couple of quiet days at home whilst the ladybird was at nursery. We are currently at my parent’s house over in Yorkshire for a few days. Although we haven’t done much it’s nice to have extra people to distract the big ladybird whilst I’m still feeding the tiny one very regularly. Thank you for your comments last week. I’ve not been on my own with the two of them since so I’m a less stressed this week. My eldest is still getting upset/angry or trying to  hurt the tiny one but nowhere near as bad as last week.

I found a little time to read a bit more of my book on one of the ladybird’s nursery days. Although it was only a very short amount of time, I enjoyed it. I’ll have to keep making an effort.

Yesterday was Beatrix Potter’s 150th birthday and I found this book at my parent’s house so we read it at bedtime. I’m hoping my husband will go up in their loft this weekend as they have all my childhood books up their. I’d love to find some of the books I had as a child.

I’m still going to bed really early with the tiny ladybird, as 3 hours is a good gap between feeds and the gaps get shorter after midnight. I watched a few of the usual things I’ve mentioned before and we started watching the new E4 series Containment this week. It’s about a deadly virus outbreak that they are trying to find a cure and contain the epidemic. So far I’m really enjoying it.

I purchased a sling this week as the tiny ladybird hates being put down for very long. I chose the close NCT caboo. I’m finding it useful for getting her to nap in the day and I still have my hands free for the ladybird or to do jobs. I can’t wear it for too long or I get back ache but it’s a start. Sometimes I even managed to transfer her from it asleep! I’ve not got a photo of it on yet so here is a photo is it with the rest of an online order of bits for her.

The ladybirds have been wearing summer clothes a lot this week (summer seems to have arrived at last but some days have been warm but wet).

This tiny outfit found its way in to my shopping trolley during the weekly shop (which was a particularly stressful experience with the two girls, I’m seriously considering online shopping). My youngest has got lots of 0-3 month clothes from her big sister but I couldn’t resist this adorable vest. I also picked up some sandals for the big one.

Sorry I can’t really think of anything for this one.

I found 15 minutes to make this really simple sensory toy for the tiny ladybird yesterday. She’s still a little young but I know very soon she will enjoy tracking the ribbons with her eyes.

And lastly…..

We are seeing all my grandparents these next couple of days as they want to meet the tiny ladybird for the first time. My husband is at home as he is working but I’m looking forward to seeing him at the weekend. I’m a little bit jealous of him getting 3 full nights sleep! But I know he is missing us all.

Aww what cute little outfits! Glad you’re surrounded by family at the moment, sounds like just what you need. Have a lovely time with your grandparents this weekend x

Thank you. It is nice not to be home alone with the two of them for three days this week. I need to get used to being on my own with them for the three days though as obviously that is my new normal. X

My husband was away too for a night last week in a hotel with work and I was jealous of the full nights sleep too! I couldn’t manage without our sling. G is getting a bit better but he has hated being put down and away from me so he has loved being in the sling and thankfully it means I can play with O and get jobs done etc.
Sounds like you’ve had a much better week, I hope it continues. xx
