It’s been a pretty normal week here. We’ve not done anything particularly exciting. A quiet weekend at home followed by the usual week. This probably won’t be my most interesting little loves post but here it is anyway.
Read
We’ve read a couple of books this week that are twists on classic fairy tales. The Princess and the giant is based on jack and the beanstalk which I realised I’ve never read to F. This version is a lovely rhyming story about a princess who is trying to help the giant sleep. Use your imagination is loosely based on little red riding hood and is a really entertainment book with a surprise ending. I realised that there are so many fairy tales I have not read to F and the ones we have read she loves. I’ll have to look for her a nice collection or see if my parents can find my old ones in their loft.
Watched
Last Saturday afternoon we all watched Disney Pixar’s Inside out. It’s such a lovely film and very clever too. If you’re not familiar with it, basically most of the film is set in the brain of an 11 year old girl who is the struggling with her emotions after a big upheaval of moving to a different city. The main characters are her emotions joy, sadness, anger, disgust and fear. The film is really imaginative but at the same time, you can tell neurologists and psychologists had been involved.
Wore
Warm hats and scarfs. We woke to our first snow of 2017 last Friday. I wrapped F up and let her play in the garden as I had E to watch. On Saturday my husband watched E whilst I took F outside only most of the snow had gone. However, we did snow painting that I blogged about on Wednesday.
Made
On Sunday we had my husband’s family over for a roast dinner. Although my husband cooked most of it, I made my families sausage meat stuffing which we usually only have at Christmas. The whole meal was delicious but I forgot to take any pictures.
I set up a simple foil painting activity for F yesterday. She seemed to really enjoy it but only for about 5 minutes.
Heard
F telling E she’s her best friend. Unfortunately, she doesn’t always act like it! But it is very sweet when F is affectionate to E or the way E thinks F is the funniest thing ever, even when she’s not doing much.
And lastly ….
We have no plans for the weekend but I feel the need to get out and do something. I’m not sure what yet though but I can’t face another quiet weekend in the house.
It’s so lovely to hear siblings getting along isn’t it? H adores his sister and tells her all the time! I love Inside Out, such a lovely film. Have a wonderful weekend xx

Those two children’s books look fab, i will have to check them out. Olivia loves her books i want to get into the routine of reading her a bed time story.

I’m sure Olivia would love them. I wouldn’t be without bed time stories in our routine except if we are home very late and simply transferring them from car to bed. I’m sure you’ll love it.
We’ve not actually watched Inside Out yet, but it’s definitely on the list of ones we want to watch. Some great ideas for activities too! Enjoy your quiet weekend (sometimes they are the best kind!) xx
