January has been a mixed month in our house at least. We’ve had a lot of illness. Little E had a cough/cold bug in the middle of the month followed by a sickness bug towards the end. This post is a little later than I planned as I’ve been ill. I spent most of last weekend and the beginning of this week in bed ill with a fever/headache/sore throat. Thankfully I’m a lot better now and I’m hoping we can have a few weeks bug free in our house.
The weather this month has been pretty rubbish too but we did manage a couple of nice days out. We had one day out at the beginning of the month to one of our local National Trust properties Quarry Bank Mill. It was cold but we had a few fun-filled hours exploring the grounds and playing in the playground.
In the middle of the month, we spent a wet Saturday exploring Manchester Museum of Science and Industry. There were lots of great interactive activities for the girls. The robotic rabbits were their favourites. If they are happy they glow green (from lots of stroking) and if they are unhappy they grow red. F loved stroking them but E was fascinated by their ears which they hated.
The other weekends have been quieter but we have been enjoying spending time with our extended family, doing creative activities with the girls and fighting off illnesses. Let’s hope February is a better month for us.
