Gardening, long drives and KIT days #littleloves

Gardening, long drives and KIT days #littleloves

This week has been quieter than last week. It started on Friday with our long drive back from Legoland (I shared our trip and tips for visiting with children under 5 this week). We stayed nearby overnight and set off for home at 10 am. Yet again the M6 was a nightmare and we got home at 5 pm (the satnav said it should take 3 hours). We did have a couple of hours break at lunch time at Shugborough Estate, a National Trust property just off the M6. The weather was miserable and we didn’t really have time to explore much of the site but it was certainly better than stopping at a service station.

I wish I had something to share here but sadly I can’t think of anything I’ve read this week.

The only thing I’ve watched on tv this week is New girl. I enjoyed the cross over episode with Brooklyn nine nine. On you tube this week I enjoyed seeing The Michalak’s new home in Bath, Kat Molesworth‘s weekly vlog and a few videos by Natasha Bailie.

F is learning all about growing plants at preschool and I thought it would be nice to grow some things with her. It’s one of those things that I really want to do but it keeps being put off when something more important comes up or I’m just too tired to make the effort. We did actually grow strawberries a couple of years ago when we first moved into this house. E slept reasonably well (for her at least) and the weather was dry so yesterday, I took the girls to the garden centre and bought a few seeds and some strawberry plants. After lunch, we planted a few sunflower seeds and the strawberry plants. F loved it and then spent a while playing with mud! I’d like to grow a few other bits so fingers crossed we get round to it!

I did my first keep in touch day at work this week (it went better than I feared). On Saturday I went shopping and I bought a couple of new tops. I wore this one this week and got lots of compliments on it. I still need some more work clothes before I start back properly in June but there was nothing else in our shops.  So I need to either do some online shopping or travel a bit further than our small town centre.

I heard all about E’s day with my mum, after my KIT day. She did really well and was on the whole happy, ate and slept fairly well. It was the longest I’ve left her and I’m glad it was with my mum & not at nursery. After spending the day apart it was lovely to hear what she’d been up to. Unfortunately, she woke lots that night (I know it was probably because I’d not been around all day) but it has me worried about how I will cope with so little sleep when I’m back working three days in a row each week. She’s got her first settling in session at nursery next week. She’ll be doing two full days at nursery from June and one day with my mum. I’m hoping she settles into the nursery as well as my eldest did. As well as hoping her sleep will eventually improve drastically, sooner rather than later.

And lastly ….

What a gorgeous place to stop off on the way back from Legoland, even with the weather being a bit grim. That top is really lovely. I’m sure E will settle once she gets into a routine with you back at work and starting nursery. Have a lovely weekend x

The top is lovely, so perfect for when the weather is warmer. Good luck with growing your flowers as well, I always seem to kill everything off so we’ve given up trying! Have a lovely weekend #littleloves

So pleased your KIT went well, I remember mine, they always felt a little weird, like you were part of it but not really. I hope your little one’s settling in day at nursery is a success, it’s always a little nerve wracking though more for us than them often! xx

I hope E settles well and that the KIT days go well too. That top is gorgeous and we love growing strawberry plants -the children enjoy it so much x

It’s great to read that your kit day went well. That top is really lovely and bright. Butterflies always make me think of peace. I think I may have to grow strawberries with the girls as they absolutely love eating them and it will teach them how they are grown. #LittleLoves

They would love it. I know my daughter did last time and I’m guessing she will this time too.
