Updating your home can often seem like a real big task in front of you. You have the desire to change things, but perhaps not the big budget for lots of paint, or indeed the time to actually redecorate a full room. Life is overwhelming as it is. But, that doesn’t mean to say you can make small but significant changes and additions to different rooms in your home. Many of us even like to do this seasonally and add and change things according to the time of year.
Sometimes we all find areas of our home that need to be redecorated, and you may even be asking yourself the question who decorates the house the most? But the thought of redecorating might give you all the fear. Whatever has inspired you to make some changes don’t worry about pulling out the paint brushes, these updates can be easily done in your home without the faff of paint. Here are some ideas.
Kitchen
First of all the kitchen is often seen as the hub of the home. It is the place that many families and couple congregate to not only cook and eat, but to talk about their days and perhaps even work or for children do homework. It needs to be a functional space. So if it needs a bit of updating and sprucing up then why not start with colour. Perhaps you could buy some flowers in a particular colour. Or if you have shelves add some new little trinkets and ornaments to give them a new lease of life. You could consider making the use of the walls and creating a feature with a gallery of family shots. There are plenty of tutorials and inspiration on how to do this online.
The living room
Again like the kitchen, a living room can be a space that has many functions. You may relax, you may socialise in there, but you also want to ensure that comfort, as well as style, goes hand in hand. Many of us can’t afford new sofas or furniture, but we could consider making a little statement piece like a chair. Finding a frame you love at a car boot sale and then using from cushions ee you with the makings of a new chair. A bit of material for upholstering and you are done. Other things to consider would be new cushions or blankets, depending on the time of year, candles and adding a bit of colour through new accessories and again flowers. It can make the world of difference.
Bathroom
The bathroom can often be a tricky room to spruce up without the need for a new remodel to take place. But if you have an all white suite then a change of colour scheme could easily be sorted through towels and accessories you have on display. House plants and adding greenery is also a nice touch for a bathroom. Even a new light fitting or adding a new floor could make a big difference without the need to completely change the bathroom suite or paint any walls. Job done.
Bedroom
Consider investing in new bedding and throw pillows in vibrant colors or patterns to add a pop of personality. Introduce stylish and functional accessories, such as bedside lamps or decorative mirrors, to enhance the overall aesthetic. One transformative addition that can elevate the bedroom experience is incorporating a Stone TV bed. This innovative piece of furniture seamlessly integrates a television into the footboard, offering entertainment without sacrificing valuable wall space.
Whether you choose to add some colour through new trinkets or get a little inspired to create your own pieces, let’s hope you find it fun to spruce up your home without needing to paint.
