I’ve got quiet a lot to write about this weeks so I won’t waffle on too much here. Another week has flown by!
Not a lot really! I did read the menu when myself and my husband had a rare child free meal out on Sunday. I do mean rare (I really couldn’t tell you when the last time we went out without the ladybird was or where we went). She spent Saturday night at my parents, her first time away without us overnight. Partly so we could get lots of jobs done round the house on Sunday and partly so her first night away wasn’t when the baby was born. We missed her but got lots done and treated ourselves to a meal out just before she arrived home. Next week is our 5 year wedding anniversary so we treated it as an early celebration. The dessert was particularly yummy.
I’ve watched quiet a bit this week. I particularly enjoyed the first episode of the new BBC 1 show Love, Nina. It’s a book that has been turned in to a tv drama by Nick Hornby. It’s set in 1980’s London and is really funny. I’m looking forward to the next episode tonight.
We also signed up to Amazon prime instant video. I have to say so far I’m not that impressed. Everything I wanted to catch up on is charged extra. If anyone has amazon prime, I’d love to hear your recommendations for films/series to watch.
Every time someone knocks at the door, the ladybird shouts it’s the postman with a present for me and when it’s not she says “I really want the postman to bring me a present”. I guess it’s because we’ve had so many deliveries recently, most of which have been things we need for the baby.
I couldn’t stop laughing last night when the ladybird asked her daddy if he wanted some sprinkles. He looked a bit confused but said yes anyway and she poured a box of jigsaw pieces all over his lap. You’ve got to love a three year olds imagination!
I’m still wearing the same maternity wear but last saturday, I got my hair done and also my toe nails painted which was a lovely few hours at the salon. Yesterday I shared a photo of my bump on instagram, I’m 38 weeks tomorrow.
The ladybird wore this gorgeous new top that I treated her to when Boden had 25% off a few weeks ago. This photo doesn’t really do it justice but it features brightly coloured dinosaurs (I would take a better photo but it is now covered in strawberry frozen yogurt).
I’ve made quiet a lot this week. Mainly in the kitchen. I started by making Strawberry scones on Friday. I used a recipe from My lovely little lunch box. Myself and the ladybird enjoyed one still warm from the oven and the rest went in to my new mini chest freezer for once the baby arrives.
I’ve already managed to almost fill our new freezer. This week I have baked a lemon drizzle cake and a banana bread and put both in there. I made the ladybird some homemade chicken nuggets and cooked up 3 family size portions of pork meatballs. I made a really simple batch of strawberry frozen yogurt lollies for the ladybird too (you can see her enjoying one in the picture of her in the wore section).
I made the ladybird her first busy bag which I had meant to save until the baby was here but I ended up giving it her Wednesday afternoon (we were stuck in the house all day, I really need to get out most days or we both get a little fed up). I need to make a few more though before the baby arrives. It kept her entertained for a while, until she started pulling the velcro dots off!
Lastly, I found a little bit of time to do some crafts this week. On Tuesday afternoon, when my energy disappeared and the ladybird was still at nursery, I found time to do a little crochet. I’m really hoping to finish this dolls blanket for the ladybird soon (I started it almost 3 months ago whilst off work sick). I also managed to cut out and iron some fabric for a cushion I am planning to make for her bedroom. Hopefully I will get the sewing machine out this weekend or on Tuesday.
I’m looking forward to having my husband around for three days this weekend. We’ve not made any plans but we do have a few remaining bits of diy that need doing. I’m really hoping the weather picks up soon, it’s freezing here!
