The snowman tour

The snowman tour

In last weeks little loves post, I mentioned The Snowman Tour. Well, today I’m back to tell you all about it. I don’t know about you but I can’t imagine Christmas without The Snowman. I remember watching The Snowman on tv every Christmas eve when I was growing up. Last year I introduced it to my four year old too. She loved the film and also Raymond Briggs’ picture book. This year we are all very excited to be invited along to review The Snowman live this December and I can’t wait.

The Snowman tour brings to life the magical Christmas film by showing the classic film on a big screen accompanied by a live, professional orchestra playing the original score. A young local soloist will also sing the classic “Walking in the air”. There will also be a visit from the Snowman. I’m sure my 4 year old is going to love it. I think I might enjoy it just as much, if not more!

The snowman film is only half of the show. The other half will be a second short animated film. This varies depending on the venue. At some, it is Cinderella or The Nutcracker. At most venues, it is The Bear and The Piano, a new and exclusive animated film based on David Litchfield’s award winning book. The animation is narrated by Joanna Lumley and accompanied by a beautiful score played by the live orchestra. We are going to the Chester Cathedral showing where The Bear and the Piano will be the second film. I’m not familiar with this book and I can’t decide whether to read the book in advance or leave it as a surprise? Either way, I’m looking forward to it and I’m sure we are going to love it. You all know how much we love children’s books by now!

The Snowman is touring across the country, in a variety of venues. You could watch the snow in Liverpool Cathedral or how about in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom? The show is on at Liverpool Cathedral on Saturday 23rd December and if there wasn’t a chance I might have to work this weekend, then this is the one I would have chosen. The venue is stunning and it would make the perfect start to the Christmas period. Check the website to see where your nearest venue is.

I know it’s only August but tickets for some Christmas events are already on sale and I know from experience the best ones will be fully booked long before December. Tickets for The Snowman tour are on sale now and available here.

If you’re still unsure watch the video below. I did and it made me very excited to take my family to experience this enchanting show.

Pin for later

Disclosure – I have been given 4 tickets to see The Snowman this December in exchange for this post and a review after the show. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I would love to take my little girl to see this, I remember going with the school when I was young. Ava’s getting a little sister this year for Christmas so hopefully it will be on next year too.

This looks amazing and I’d love to watch the film with an orchestra playing in one of those amazing historic venues. Sadly it appears it is just Midlands/ North based and it wll be too far for us but have an amazing time. Mich x

We LOVE the Snowman – to us it’s as Christmassy as mince pies and we couldn’t go a year without watching it. I love the concept of two parts to the production, it looks like a great show for all the family.

This sounds amazing. And The Bear and the Piano is one of our favourite books of all time! I really hope we can get to see this at some point 🙂 x

Oh I love the snowman so much it reminds me of my childhood and Christmas time. Its something I am hoping to foster in both boys, although Kipper is a little young at the moment. I am sure Monkey would really enjoy this, I am going to see if there any shows local to us in the South. Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention x
