When planning your 2023 summer getaway, you’ll no doubt want to make sure you pick the right location with activities that cater to the entire family.

Seas the day
One of the greatest things about the UK is that it’s surrounded by water. And it doesn’t take long to get from the middle of the country to a coastal town, where sandy beaches transport you to what feels like a foreign land – when the sun is shining at least.
Wherever you decide to go, the UK has some of the best beaches in the world, with cliffside walks, coves and the ocean to explore.
You could lounge in the sand and build sandcastles as the tide goes in and out, or you could learn a new skill like surfing, kayaking or coasteering. Or, you could buy fish and chips and opt for a traditional day out at a great British seaside.
Nature trails
Another way to spend quality time with your family this summer holiday is by embarking on some of the most unique nature trails. You could go hiking in the countryside or take in the views from a gentle stroll along streams and woodlands.
How about visiting the White Cliffs of Dover, where you can look across to France on a clear day, discover three castles and see the South Foreland Lighthouse?
Exploring history
The UK is rich with history, and a great way to keep your family learning all-throughout the summer is by visiting some incredible landmarks which could no doubt tell countless stories.
The history of our isles is vast, involves many cultures, and attracts people from all over the world, even those willing to negotiate the ETA fee structure to come and visit. The aforementioned landmarks really are a draw.
An example of this is the Jurassic Coast in Devon and Dorset, where rock formations and fossils tell the tales of dinosaurs and evolution unlike anywhere else in the UK.
Real-life castles
You could also explore history by stepping into some of the castles that have guarded the UK for centuries. Learn about battles, royalty and your ancestors, as the entire family ignite a passion for the unique architecture.
You could even be transported back to 1068 in the medieval Warwick Castle. For fiction fans – visit real-life scenes from the fantastical Hogwarts at Alnwick Castle. There really is something for everyone.
Theme parks
You could push yourselves to the limit and have a ride at some of the UK’s most popular theme parks. Or, you could try other adrenaline-filled adventures by zip-lining or embarking on a high-ropes course.
For the adrenaline junkies in the family, there’s plenty to explore.
Bonding over board games
What’s more, at the end of a busy day of exploration, your luxurious caravan will be there to welcome you on a holiday site which, in itself, boasts a whole host of activities. There’s nothing better than cosying down together and bringing out a little competition with classic board games.
Instead, you could each create a few quiz questions based on what you’ve discovered that day, or even play themed Charades!
