If you’re looking for the perfect outdoor activities for your whole family this summer, you’ll want to consider which ones will benefit every age from the very oldest to the very youngest.
Here are three activities that will be suitable for every age and ability and will provide your family with hours of fun in the summer months.
- Hold a Sports Day
For those lucky enough to have a garden, you might want to hold an outdoor sports day for the whole family, complete with refreshments, prizes, and photo opportunities.
If you want a quick and easy way of taking photos with instant results, you could use a Fujifilm Instax Camera, which prints instant photos ready for framing. This is also a great way to fill up photo albums without the hassle of printing all your photos from a device manually.
Although the older members of the family may struggle to join in with the competitive activities, you could equip them with flags and banners or give someone the responsibility of giving out a prize to the winner of each event.
- Visit a Nature Park
For the nature lovers in your family, you might want to visit a nature park. Depending on the facilities at the nature park, you could feed the animals, or teach very young children the names of the animals.
Day trips make for great family activities to involve the grandparents in, but if they’re infirm on their feet you might want to check if the park is wheelchair accessible, or if any indoor staircases have access to a stairlift.
If you have a stairlift at home that may need replacing, you can call on the services of We Buy Any Stairlift, who will professionally remove your stairlift and recycle or sell the parts for you.
- Make a Kite
In the days before ready-made kites were available, many families used to make their own kites.
If you want to have a stab at making your own kite, you can use websites like WikiHow, which break down the construction process into easy steps, with accompanying pictures.
You could then organise a kite-flying contest to test the craftsmanship of each kite, and see who can fly theirs the highest – bonus points for the most beautifully designed kite!
Consider making kite building a team activity, or allow each family member to make their own kite… the choice is yours!
