On the whole, we’ve had a lovely week. The nights are still long and as I write this at 9:30 pm Thursday, E is just back to sleep after her first wake up inconsolable. I think her third tooth is on its way so it could be a long night. Here’s what I’ve loved this week.
I’m considering making the move to self hosted so I’ve been reading various blog posts about it. I don’t have a lot of time to blog and will have even less time once I go back to work so I’m never going to make a lot of money. I’m not sure if it’s worth the cost/time to make the move but for some reason, I keep coming back to the idea.
I’ve been blogging 8 years this month (food blogging before I had children) and I’ve never made the move to self hosted. In many ways, I feel like a beginner as blogging has moved on so much in that time and I have not! Any recommendations on good sources of advice on going self hosted or blogging tips? I have heard there are some good Facebook groups for advice, any recommendations? I’d also love to hear if you think going self hosted is worth it if I’m not planning to run it as my job.
The final two parts of Apple tree yard which I really enjoyed. It seems everywhere I’ve been this week people have been talking about this show.
I’ve also been enjoying Lucy Dear beautiful’s daily vlogs this week. I’m a long time fan of her blog and vlogs.
I watched this week as the first flowers of the year appeared in my garden.
E is doing really well with finger foods now so I’m always on the look out for new ideas of things to try. If she’s hungry, she’ll eat anything I put in front of her so I’m trying to make the most of it and give her lots of variety. On Friday I made mini omelet muffins. I put peppers and cheddar in some and peas and spinach in the others. She enjoyed them warm and even cold the following day.
E has been wearing these gorgeous dungarees from Piccalilly. I’ve been dressing E in dungarees much more than I ever did F. I think F wore leggings a lot more which I don’t like on E mainly due to her cloth nappy.
F sometimes says the most grown up things and sometimes the silliest. This week’s favourites include –
“Come on car, you can do it” (I wouldn’t mind but it wasn’t struggling).
To her doll “If you don’t behave you’re going to the baby room” on further questioning she told us this what happens at preschool if they don’t behave (I very much doubt this is true).
I’m also loving hearing E giggle lots. Mostly at her big sister.
And lastly ……
On Saturday we had a lovely day out at Trentham gardens (I blogged about it here). I loved all the fairy sculptures. Whilst we were there I spotted Jenny from Let’s talk mummy and kerri-Ann from Life as our little family. I really wanted to say hello to them but I just didn’t have the confidence. It felt weird that I knew them but they wouldn’t recognise me despite them commenting on my blog. It would have been lovely to speak, though. I felt the same when I spotted Charlotte from Write like no one is watching in our local supermarket last year.
