I can’t believe it’s time to share my February Little loves post but then February is a short month. January was mostly filled with E (my youngest) getting bug after bug. Unfortunately, February hasn’t been much better. All four of us have been ill at one point or another, including E for the third time this year. She was ill for over a week too. We are currently on half term though and no one in is ill and the weather has been lovely too. I will be sharing all our adventures next week in my monthly adventures post. Until this week I was expecting to have to skip a month but we are enjoying a fantastic half term week.
Just children’s books again this month. I shared our favourite love-themed books last week for valentines day but many are equally suitable for mother’s day too.
Whilst reading little loves posts last month I discovered Grace and Frankie on Netflix. When I was off work sick at the beginning of the month I watched rather a lot of episodes in those few days. Another show we have been enjoying on Netflix this month is Designated Survivor. We loved 24 and so far we are enjoying this Washington based drama.
This month I’ve been listening to podcasts again. I’m really enjoying What she said, Blogtacular and Hashtag Authentic. I found Blogtacular’s guide to GDPR particularly useful.
We also had F’s second parent’s evening at school. We’d been aware she was not progressing as well as some of the class with reading and writing but as she is a spring baby I’ve tried not to worry about it. So it was lovely to hear that she’d been getting extra support at school and is now progressing. We still have difficulty getting her to read to us but she definitely knows a lot of her numbers and phonics and can spell a lot of 3 letter words.
I’ve been continuing to make an effort to do sensory play activities with E. We have been particularly enjoying nursery rhyme treasure baskets.
This month included pancake day and although we didn’t have pancakes of the day, I have continued to make Scotch pancakes for the girls regularly. Regular readers will know they are both going through a very fussy eating phase, not helped by E being so ill she didn’t eat for a week. Last night though they both ate loads of macaroni cheese with mushrooms. I will definitely be making that recipe again.
This month I have been reviewing a number of craft subscription boxes with F. She has been loving all the crafts and a little bit of gardening too. E has developed a big love of drawing this month too.
F seems to be growing really rapidly at the moment. I’ve bought her a couple of new bits including this gorgeous jumper.
And lastly …..
Yesterday I shared a review & giveaway of a superhero craft box. It’s suitable for children aged 3-8 so if you have a superhero fan in that age group please head over and enter the giveaway.
