Home life project March
This month, I am much happier with my collection of photos than I was for last month’s home life project. I love the colours and light in all these photos. Saturday was a lovely sunny day here in Cheshire so I was keen to go out somewhere. We had a quiet morning at home and then went out for a few hours in the afternoon. We went to a local ice cream farm which not only serves delicious ice cream but it also has a lovely outdoor play area.
This morning F actually ate breakfast, this is rare. Both my girls seem to be on some kind of hunger strike. E is almost 9 months and barely eats at the best of times but these last few days she is eating next to nothing. F used to be really good eater but she seems to be getting fussier by the day.

F played independently really well this morning. I love how brightly coloured the girl’s toys are. F seemed to be sorting toys by colour a lot this morning. Unfortunately, she seems to love E’s toys more than her own and often takes them off her.

Nappy changing time for E is always difficult as she rolls straight onto her tummy and tries to crawl off. In order to keep her still I resorted to letting her hold my phone while I quickly changed it.
I love F’s imagination. This is her “on the top deck of the bus”.
Nap time for E. As usual, it only lasted about 30 minutes.

Obviously, the hunger strike was lifted for ice cream as you might expect.

This month’s creative challenge is to capture real emotions, happy or sad. It’s not that easy to do when I don’t show my girl’s faces. Above you can see how excited she was by this play house.

I tried something new tonight, squash mac and cheese (from Jamie’s superfood family classics). I forgot to take any photos of the finished dish as it was all a bit stressful. E ate a little and I think she liked it. But I just don’t think she wanted to eat due to teething or a cough she currently¬†has. In addition, F refused to eat anything other than a slice of bread. Fortunately, both my husband and I really enjoyed it. As well as trying to get the girls to eat I was also juggling baking a cake at this point. I forgot to take any photos so I’m cheating and including one of the cake after I finished decorating it on Sunday morning.

So many lovely bright colours! It looks like a fun, chilled out weekend… Even with the food-strikers and roly-poly baby! They like to keep us on our toes, don’t they?!

Thank you. Yes they certainly do.

We have also tried the squash mac and cheese, though I found it somewhere other than Jamie… we liked it, but I’m not sure I’d bother again. Plain old mac and cheese is pretty good on its own! By the way I’m less happy with my photos than last month – talk about swings and roundabouts! Thanks for linking up! x
