Jelly, surprise gifts and nursery #littleloves

This week was my first week back at work after maternity leave and it went surprisingly well. We still need to work on our routine but it went mostly ok. I’ve still managed to post 3 times this week and use Instagram daily. I have to say this post might be a bit light on photos as I haven’t taken as many photos this week or made that much. We did have a lovely day out at Lyme Park on Saturday. I shared lots of photos on Monday as part of the monthly Home Life project.

 Read

As expected I’ve not read that much this week but I did read a good blog subscription email from Not another mummy blog. She wrote about the pressure we put on ourselves to be perfect and do we really want our kids to grow up thinking they have to be perfect l? This couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I also loved her recommendations of things to read. I love monthly email’s like this and would like to subscribe to some more. Do you have any recommendations?

Watched

I finally got round to watching the final of this season’s Grey’s Anatomy. As always I loved it and can’t wait for the next season to start.

This week E has been gaining more confidence cruising around the furniture. I also shared a video of her dancing on Instagram stories. You can find my Instagram account here. I try to post once a day, usually in the evening and I’m trying to use stories more.

Made

Last night I made jellies. Today is E’s first birthday. Until tea-time, it’s going to be just me and the girls but I want to do something for her that is a bit different. I did a lot more sensory play with F when she was this age including jelly play. We are going to do jelly play this afternoon. I couldn’t resist making one for F too and I have added letters to her.

Wore

It was our 6 year wedding anniversary last Friday. My husband surprised me with this beautiful necklace. We don’t usually do big presents so I was very surprised.

Heard

How well E did at her first 2 full days at nursery this week. I still worried on Monday, as despite her doing well in her settling in sessions, I worried that the jump from 2 to almost 10 hours was a big one. I needn’t have worried, she settled in amazingly and even had 90 minutes or more naps for them. She didn’t even put up much of a fight in going to sleep. If only the same could be said for when she is with me! They had 5 new babies this week and they said E settled in by far the best they’ve seen in a long time. She did a lovely painting on her first day which I loved bringing home.

And lastly …

We have lots of lovely plans for E’s birthday this weekend. We’re having a family day out tomorrow and then a little party on Sunday. I’ll no doubt share photos on Instagram over the weekend and this time next week I’ll be back to tell you all about it.

Good to hear work has been going okay. I’m currently on wind down a little as I only have 5 weeks before the summer holidays and before leaving my current job. Well done on managing to still post 3 times a week, I have really struggled to keep up since being back at work. Have a fantastic time celebrating E’s birthday this weekend. xx

I think it may be a one off. I have a few half written posts so I’m hoping to maintain it for a few more weeks but I do think I am going to struggle. Congratulations on the new job.

It’s the only nursery I know but it does seem good. Thanks for visiting
