With just a couple of weeks left until Mother’s day, today I’m going to share with you some ideas for gifts for your mum (or that you might like to hint to your kids or husband/partner that you would like to receive some of these). I love a handmade card and gift from my children and of course, a lie in wouldn’t go amiss but if you are looking to buy a gift here are a few ideas. Please note some of these items were sent to me in exchange for inclusion in this guide. I have tested them out and genuinely love them.
Greetings cards from Hallmark *
Hallmark sent me a selection of their Mother’s day cards (which are all available to buy from Hallmark or your local card shop). I’ve always loved the quality and design of Hallmark cards and this year’s selection does not disappoint. There is something for everyone from dog lovers to traditional flower lovers and plenty of modern designs too.
Hallmark also sent me a couple of their Itty Bittys that my girls have fallen in love with. They’d make a cute little gift if your mum is a Disney fan.
Urban Veda, soothing body ritual travel set, £11.99 *
Available to buy direct.
This set of three mini products are beautifully packaged, smell gorgeous and are very soothing on the skin. This set includes a 50ml bottle each of soothing body wash, soothing body scrub and soothing body lotion. They contain Ayurvedic Sandalwood, organic Aloe Vera and Ylang Ylang to calm and tone your skin. I’ve used these in the shower a few times now and love them.
Halia Rose, teething necklace *
Trio in blue, £18.99. Available to buy direct.
Who doesn’t like to receive jewellery? My problem though is that my toddler will grab and pull any necklace I wear. My eldest was just the same. This time around though I have discovered a stylish and practical solution, teething necklaces. They are pretty much indestructible in the hands of even the most curious baby or toddler. Even better, they have a dual purpose of being something your teething little one can chew on to soothe their gums, whilst you are holding them. They are stylish too and come in a wide range of styles and colours. Halia Rose make all their teething jewellery from food grade silicone tested to global safety standards and are free of latex, PVC, BPA, lead and phthalates. They can even be washed in the dishwasher if you wish.
Mamasaurus canvas bag *
Available from Stickerscape, £11.95
I love this canvas bag. I think the design is stylish and practical. The bag measures 30cm x 30cm x 19cm and is made from hardwearing cotton canvas. This design is available in navy (as shown), black, green and pink. It’s the perfect bag for carrying a bit of shopping, a picnic or other essential items for trips out. I don’t know about you but I always need an extra bag when out with my two girls.
National Trust family cookbook
I love cooking and cookbooks so I’m always happy with getting one as a gift. My kids bought me this one for Christmas. It’s packed full of delicious sounding recipes by Clare Thomson (find her on Instagram as 5oclockapron). As you might know, my kids are going through a very fussy eating stage so I’ve not tried many of them yet but I’m not giving up.
Perfume always makes a great gift. This one is an affordable one from Next (they sell a range of perfume at affordable prices) but my dream would be a bottle of Viktor and Rolf flowerbomb.
A magazine subscription
Or even just one issue as long as you then give her time to read it! I love The simple things or when I have more time for crafting Mollie makes. There are so many different magazines available you are bound to find the perfect one for your mum.
