April has been a busy month, packed with adventures and days out. We started April on Easter Sunday still in Anglesey (following on from where we left our March adventures). We spent most of Easter Sunday in waterproofs and wellies, Easter egg hunting, playing in the park and paddling in the sea. Easter Monday was very wet so we had brunch at our favourite beachside cafe and then headed home. Some areas of the country even experienced snow but luckily we escaped it.
The first 2 weeks of April were F’s school holidays. I had the first week off and for the 3 days, I worked the following week she spent with her grandparents. She loved staying over at my parent’s for a few days and then spending another day with her other grandparents. On my days off we went to the cinema to watch Peter Rabbit, visited our favourite local National Trust grounds (where we had great fun doing activities) and went swimming (at an amazing splash park with slides and a lazy river). Then, unfortunately, a stomach bug did the rounds of our house!
We all enjoyed the mini heat wave that came in the middle of April. We mostly spent it in the garden. Both the girls loved spending time at the water table and generally playing in the garden. They both loved rediscovering the playhouse after the winter.
The end of April brought F’s 5th birthday and we celebrated with a unicorn craft party which she adored. We also went to a family party where F had fantastic fun on a trampoline with all the ‘big’ kids. Poor E was desperate to join in. We finished the month with E coming down with hand, foot and mouth again (she had it in October too). Fortunately, it seems she’s getting it milder this time but her mouth is very sore. Hopefully, she’ll be over it very soon.
May is set to be another busy month for us. Let’s hope the warmer weather makes a return soon.
