My family adventures May

My family adventures May

The months seem to be flying past. Our youngest is two in a few days, I can’t believe how fast time is going. This month may have flown by but it’s been a great month (if you ignore the 5 days I was ill). We’ve had lots of sunshine meaning more time outdoors. Our weekends may not have held as much adventure as normal but we more than made up for it with our holiday at the end of the month.

May started with a gorgeous sunny bank holiday. F had 2 birthday parties and I had to work 1 day so we didn’t get to go on any days out. I would have loved to go to the coast. We did manage a morning at our nearest National Trust gardens at least.

The other weekends were quiet too. Mostly spent locally with more friends birthday parties and getting ready for our holiday.

The second May bank holiday was the start of our half term and also our holiday. We travelled up to North Berwick in East Lothian for a week. With 5 hours of driving ahead of us, we set off at 6 am and made good progress but unfortunately an hour in and we hit a motorway closure which took us 2 hours to pass just 1 junction. It was worth the long drive though, we had a great holiday exploring and making memories as a family.

We arrived late afternoon and explored the cute little seaside town we were staying in. We didn’t get much beach weather but we only had an hour of rain all week which I’m sure you will agree is pretty good for Scotland in May.

We explored lots of Edinburgh and East Lothian, it really is a beautiful part of the country. I’ve got plenty of blog posts to share about our days out so for now, I’ll leave you with a few photos.

June is going to start with a couple of busy weekends. E’s 2nd birthday and then I’m heading to London on my own to Blogtacular. I’m both excited and nervous. I’m sure I’ll tell you all about it next month.

Linking up with Life as our little family.

I love those painted doors. We did the same as you set off at 5am to make the drive down to Cornwall, we were lucky enough not to hit any traffic. Sounds like you’ve had such a great month and oh my goodness how lovely has it been to see all the sunshine. Thank you for joining in with #MyFamilyAdventures

Gorgeous photos! I’m rather jealous of your trip to North Berwick, I used to stay in Gullane, which is just up the road, a few times a year when I was a teen and we had some fab times in North Berwick. Such a gorgeous part of Scotland. x #MyFamilyAdventures

We definitely made the most of the glorious weather in May also, with plenty of time spent outdoors. Your holiday to Scotland sounds lovely; I look forward to more posts about that.

Total side note, but I just love how bright & beautiful your girls always look. Happy June to you & your family #MyFamilyAdventures

May has been wonderful everywhere I think. Here in Cornwall we have been loving the sun too. Your break away sounds a huge success with lovely weather and plenty of outdoor fun. Such pretty photos of your growing children. You hare creating such a happy childhood for them. I wish I had been blogging when mine were this age as I can’t remember so many of the lovely days out we had. Keep it up, you think you will remember this age forever, but trust me it fades. this is a perfect way to capture the memories.

Looks like you had a lovely month and managed to enjoy visiting Edinburgh and East Lothian despite the epic journey to get there. I love the photos from the beach. Glad the rain mostly held off too! 🙂 #countrykids

How annoying about the motorway but glad your holiday was worth it once you got there. We are heading that way in August so let’s hope we get just as lucky with the weather. I am interested to hear more about what you got up to.
