Scavenger hunts are fantastic for giving walks a sense of purpose for children. They give them something to focus on so they’re less likely to claim they are bored. They also help them to focus on the world around them and notice the creatures, plants and more that are there.

If you’ve been enjoying my Winter scavenger hunt printable, now is the time to start to think about switching it for a spring one. There are lots of signs of early spring already in my garden.

In spring you’ll start to see the insects and bugs coming back, buds forming on the bare tree branches and flowers starting to grow.

How to do a spring scavenger hunt

Simply enter your name and email address into the form at the end of this post and you will be emailed the printable scavenger hunt. The form will be delivered as a pdf document to your email inbox.

Simply print the scavenger hunt out on A4 white paper and take it out on a walk with a pen or pencil. 

Give the scavenger hunt and pen to your child and ask them to tick the box when they find each clue. 

I often laminate printable scavenger hunts so that I can wipe them clean and use them over and over again. Any washable felt tip pen will simply wipe off with a damp cloth when you get home.

Where to do a signs of spring scavenger hunt

You can do this spring scavenger hunt almost anywhere outside. It could be your local park, woods or even a walk around your town. It’s ideal for printing out and storing in your bag for the next time you are out on a family walk and your child complains of being bored.

What age is the signs of spring scavenger hunt suitable for?

I’ve made these scavenger hunt clues suitable for any age. Toddlers and preschool-aged children can use the illustrations to visually see what they are looking for. Even if they can’t form a tick yet, they can make any mark they like. Perfect for early mark-making practice.
