This week has been up and down again. The tiny ladybird slept really badly at the beginning of the week and really well the last two nights. The weekend was so bad we didn’t leave the house. I made it to a playgroup yesterday that we hadn’t been to since before the tiny ladybird was born. I like getting out of the house with them and also doing something for my eldest. I think we will attempt to make our Friday morning one today. I shared her one month update here.
I’ve continued to make an effort to share some of our bedtime stories on Instagram. This week we’ve enjoyed Hetty peck the journey home.
I have been watching a bit of TV but I can’t think of anything that particularly stands out this week. I have been watching the tiny ladybird start to smile this week which is amazing.
The weather has been a little better here some days so the tiny ladybird wore this gorgeous little romper on Sunday.
She also had her first go in a reusable nappy, which I wrote more about here.
Lots of political talk due to all the changes happening at the moment. I can’t say I’m much of a politics fan but you can’t really ignore it at the moment.
I made spaghetti carbonara for the first time in ages at the weekend. It is so simple to make and tastes delicious.
On Wednesday I realised we had no bread for lunch. I decided it would be easier to make soda bread than pop to the shops with the girls! I decided it was also a good recipe to get the ladybird to help with. I measured out all the ingredients and let her mix them. She loved it and because it was so simple it kept her attention well. She also enjoyed eating the bread. I used the recipe from River Cottage Baby and Toddler cookbook. The bread was still lovely and moisture 24 hours later.
I’ve found a little bit of time to tidy my small flower patch when I had two girls sleeping (it only lasted 15 minutes). I enjoyed spending a little time gardening though and the garden looks better for it.
I’m hoping this weekend will be better than last. We have a children’s birthday party tomorrow where I’ll get to catch up with most of my mummy friends, many of whom haven’t seen the tiny ladybird yet. Hopefully, my parents are visiting Sunday too.
