Sunshine, jellyfish and dolls houses #littleloves

Sunshine, jellyfish and dolls houses #littleloves

This week has been busy, productive and fun. We were in Anglesey until Monday, then Tuesday the ladybird was at nursery so I got some jobs done, Wednesday my in-laws came round and helped out with some decorating and Thursday included a consultant/midwife appointment and an afternoon in a friends garden enjoying the sunshine.

I finished Us last weekend and bought 2 new books (that’s the next 12 months reading sorted!). Regular readers will know I’ve been reading Us since last summer. I don’t know if the book got more interesting in the second half or if I enjoyed it more because I was picking it up more regularly but either way I resolved to try to read more. I’ve yet to pick a book up since I got home though! The new books are ones I’ve discovered through little loves and they sound really good.

We picked out some new library books for the ladybird last week and one in particular has stood out. Goodnight tiger is a beautifully illustrated story book. The ladybird seems to love it as much as I do.

I’m managing to stay up a bit later at the moment (only till 9:30pm at the latest though) but this is meaning that we are working our way through our very full sky box. This week I’ve watched more Undercover, Grey’s anatomy and the X files series finale.

I also enjoyed watching the jellyfish at Anglesey Sea zoo on Friday. The weather for our trip was not great (we got one dry but cold day where we went to the beach but mostly we got rain). There is something mesmerizing about how gracefully jellyfish move around their tanks. The ladybird seemed to enjoy watching the lobsters and big fish most.

I could sit and watch these moon jellyfish all day.

I can’t think of anything else for this one other than the baby’s heartbeat. So I’ll use this heading for a quick pregnancy update. I had a consultant appointment (although yet again it was a registrar I saw again). My blood pressure is still normal but they have decided to put me on weekly midwife appointments until the baby is born, to keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn’t go up like last time.

Winter coats and sun cream in the same week! Saturday we had a very short trip to the beach as it was dry, sunny but very cold. Then yesterday we needed sun cream and the ladybird enjoyed playing in a friends paddling pool!

I cooked a batch of 4 portions of chilli for the freezer this week which I am hoping will be just the start of me filling the freezer with quick meals for once the baby arrives.

I also built this dolls house for my daughter. This is her main birthday present from us and obviously as we were away for her birthday we had to give it her a little late. It’s safe to say she loves it. I’ve loved listening to her make up stories with the dolls whilst I do jobs upstairs (the house is in her bedroom).

And lastly…

This weekend we are making a trip to ikea to get furniture for the nursery. I’m hoping that we will make real progress on preparing for the baby this week as I feel very unorganised which is not like me at all. I’ve been making the most of the sunshine washing lots of baby bits and it will be lovely to have a place to organise and put them away.

Love that jellyfish pic. Looks like its floating through a starry sky! That little dolls house is lovely, I remember my daughter having one when she was younger and she adored it. Enjoy Ikea (I love Ikea!) x

Can you believe it snowed?! Absolutely crazy this weather has been lately… I love chilli, and also made a huge batch this week as I picked up a lot of mince in the reduced section in Asda. It’s great for a quick tea when you know you’re going to be fighting the clock x

Oh the last bits of prep for a new baby-I’m looking forward to that but have a few more months to wait! That dolls house is lovely, it’s always so precious to hear them playing making up little stories. I’ve been a bit like that and books the last few years but I must admit picking them up more regularly recently has felt really nice and meant I’m getting through them a little quicker! Have a lovey Sunday x

I love watching jelly fish too, they are mesmerising.
Your little girl looks like she’s loving her new dolls house, so cute! xx
