Beach days are a lot of fun for the whole family. From the dog to the toddler, there is a little something for everyone at the beach. There is a way to get everyone in the family to the beach hassle-free. You just have to stick with a few guidelines and suggestions. Thankfully, we have put together a list of our top tips for taking your baby to the beach. This will come in handy when you are visiting the most popular beaches across the world as a family.
Get Out Early Or Show Up Late
It is recommended that you want to either get to the beach really early and leave around early lunchtime. You could also come to the beach in the late afternoon and into the evening. Either way, you want to avoid bringing your baby to the beach in the middle of the day when the sun’s rays are at their hottest and most damaging.
Use Sunscreen
When we say to use a lot of sunscreens, we mean it. It is recommended that you put on sunscreen while you are getting dressed at home. Before you change into your beach ware, give the sunscreen a few minutes to absorb into the skin. This is the best way to wear sunscreen as it will prevent irreparable damage to the skin.
Create A Safe Haven
The beach typically does not have any shade. The sun is constantly beating down on you, relentlessly. For this reason, you want to make sure that your kids have somewhere cool to take breaks when they are not out playing in the ocean or building sandcastles. You can do this by bringing beach umbrellas or you can bring beach tents to help block the sun and create some amazing shade.
Keep Cold Water On Hand
Keeping cold water on hand can be difficult, especially when you have spent all day at the beach. If you are wanting to quench your thirst without having to spend any money at the beach, you can freeze water bottles and take them with you. Leave them in the car to have when you are on your way back home after a day at the beach. You could also take them with you on your family beach adventure. No matter what, you will have cold water.
Use Turkish Towels
Most beach towels are made with microfiber materials. Instead of using these types of towels, consider trying Turkish towels. They are very lightweight, flat-woven and very soft Because of their design, they take up less space in your beach bag, freeing you up to carry more.
Choose The Right Beach Bag
While we are on the topic of good beach bags, you want to make sure that you get the right beach bag for you. When it comes to the beach you can never go wrong with a mesh bag. You will not have to worry about the sand getting everywhere because it will sift right through the material.
