Welcome to the world

Welcome to the world

I’m pleased to say that our second baby made a slightly early arrival on Thursday evening (39 + 5). We have another beautiful daughter. She weighs 6lbs 6oz so feels tiny (my eldest was 7lb 6oz) but looks very similar to her big sister. Her hair is a little darker and despite my eldest having a lot of hair, the tiny one has even more.

I’ve not decided what to call her on the blog since I now have 2 ladybirds! Ladybird 1 and 2? The ladybird and tiny or little ladybird. I’m not sure. Either way, I need to remove the apostrophe from my blog name. Here’s why I call them my ladybirds.

I love this little ladybird outfit that was one of the first gifts my eldest received on her return home from the hospital. It was the only girlie bit we had washed and ready this time round. The tiny one ended up wearing it to come home from the hospital in. I can’t wait to dress her in all the beautiful clothes from her big sister plus of course, she will no doubt get bought some more!

We are both doing well, although obviously more sleep for me would be appreciated but I know this phase will pass. The ladybird stayed with her grandparents but came to the hospital to visit us twice on Friday and they brought her home yesterday. She seems really taken with her little sister, especially her “tiny fingers”.

I’ll be back soon with more updates and pictures.
