An easy art activity for kids this winter - winter landscape art

Materials

Watercolor paper
Watercolor paints
Marker or paint pen (for branches)
Glue
Cup of water

Tools

Scissors
Paintbrushes
Paper towels or a rag for drying brushes

Instructions

Start with a sheet of watercolor paper. Paint the top portion with swirls of light blue, leaving the bottom section white to create a snowy bank.
While the paint is still wet, add gentle swirls of dark blue and purple for depth in the winter sky. Set aside to dry.
On a separate piece of watercolor paper, paint with different shades of green. Let the colors blend naturally, then allow the paper to dry completely.
Cut the green-painted paper into triangle shapes to form trees.
Use a marker or paint pen to draw simple branch lines on each triangle.
Glue the trees onto the snowy landscape, placing them along the white section of the paper.
Finish by painting or drawing small trunks at the base of each tree. Allow everything to dry before displaying the finished winter scene.
