Easter sensory bag for babies and toddlers
Sensory or discovery bags are ideal for sensory play for babies and toddlers. They’re mess-free, suitable for little ones who put everything in their mouth if you tape it to a surface and let your little one use it under supervision.
How to make an Easter sensory bag
You will need:
- Hair gel
- zip lock freezer bags
- * Easter table confetti
- Duct tape or similar
Start by emptying a tub of hair gel (I bought supermarket own basics brand for about 50p) into a zip lock freezer bag. Fill about a third full with the hair gel, enough so when the bag is flat on the table there is a thin layer.
Add the table confetti in to the hair gel. Squeeze out the air from the bag and seal shut. I’d recommend sealing the bag shut with strong tape like duct tape.
I tapes the bag to my daughter’s highchair when I did this with her. It meant she couldn’t pick it up and put it in her mouth.
Playing with the Easter sensory bag
Babies will love prodding and poking the bag. They are exploring the textures, colours and shapes. It’s a great sensory and fine motor activity for babies and toddlers. For more sensory bag ideas check out this post from Nurture store.
