Music making, delicious and cauliflower rice #littleloves

Music making, delicious and cauliflower rice #littleloves

Both girls have colds at the moment but not bad ones thankfully. E has also got her first tooth just pushing through the gum so sleep has been especially bad this week. I’m writing this on Thursday evening and I’m currently at my parent’s house for a couple of days (with the girls). I bet my husband can’t wait for a full nights sleep tonight.

I look forward to each new issue of The simple things magazine arriving but this month my new one arrived before I finish the current one so I’ve been trying to read January’s issue this week. I love all the seasonal articles.

The final episode of sky 1’s Delicious last Friday. I really looked forward to each episode of this series and I’m not quiet sure what I’ll watch now it’s finished. I still don’t watch a lot of TV right now as E is taking up most of my evening but I do enjoy watching a bit of none kids TV when I can.

I watched E swim through a hoola hoop underwater at our swimming lesson this week. She always looks so graceful under water and she has stopped crying after her underwater swims.

Food photography is not my strong point so you’ll have to bare with me here. I made cauliflower egg fried ‘rice’ one night. It was actually quiet nice (I don’t really like cauliflower). We had cauliflower and peppers in the fridge that needed using up and the only idea I had was mac and cheese with cauliflower and peppers but we’d has cheesy pasta the night before. Then I remembered seeing cauliflower rice. I felt like a contestant on Ready, steady, cook (I think I’m showing my age now).

Pancakes again. My girls love eating them for breakfast and I’ve started to enjoy making them. It’s lovely seeing them enjoy food. F is becoming more and more of a fussy eater and well E is just getting started eating so it’s all new.

Wellies, woolly hats and scarfs. We’ve had a few especially cold days this week. Saturday was particularly cold but I was getting cabin fever so we wrapped up warm and went out for a walk. It was not our most successful trip but it was still nice to get out and explore somewhere new. You can read all about our trip to Tittesworth water here.

Both my daughters had their hair trimmed yesterday. I can’t believe it was E’s 4th trim (she’s 7 months). She has so much hair. I forget it’s unusual until I see other babies her age with very little.

I heard lots of noises as E explored another treasure basket I put together for her. It was filled with things that would make a noise. E is getting pretty good at sitting up on her own if she is busy. She seemed to enjoy exploring the basket and is very good at shaking.

And lastly …..

We’ve got a few days of seeing family to look forward to this weekend. I’m also hoping to get a bit of rest or even just time with a magazine.

I’ve never made cauliflower egg fried ‘rice’ but homemade egg fried rice is always a bit in our household, and so simple to make. Love the treasure basket you put together for your littlest. It’s great to get out and wander in the winter, bundled up of course, because cabin fever easily sets in during these colder months when you just want to stay in the warmth.

I hope you have a lovely weekend, with a little more sleep in there also.

Well done to E, swimming underwater is such a challenge to master! I’m glad the cauliflower rice turned out ok, I used to make it a lot but gave up in the end as I could never eat it without loads of soy sauce. I hope you have a great weekend, and definitely get time to relax! #LittleLoves

E is only 7 months so underwater swims come naturally still. Yes there was quite a bit of soy sauce so it won’t be a regular dish.

I was going to have a go at making cauliflower rice until I saw you mention the soy sauce – I’m a complete veg dodger so I doubt I’d like it. I loved Delicious, hoping they make another series so we can see how the restaurant goes and the relationships between the characters develop, plus Iain Glen’s voice is so dreamy. Hope you have a good time at your parents this weekend x

I used reduced salt soy sauce and I don’t think we used any more than any stir fry. I’m not a fan of cauliflower but if someone gave me cauliflower rice, I’m not convinced I would have known it was cauliflower. Yes I’m hoping for a second series too.

Maybe I’ll give it a go then – any excuse for me to get out of eating veg and I’ll try it ha ha

I know what you mean. I’ve only really started eating broccoli since starting weaning my youngest!

Well done to E! Massive achievement swimming underwater! It’s been so so cold this week! Have a wonderful weekend xx

They do 3 underwater swims a lesson 30 mins. Babies take to underwater swims so well. She also naps well after which is a bonus when her usual naps are just 30 minutes! X

It has been SO cold here this week too. I’ve been meaning to catch up with Delicious, it’s on my SKY planner. Enjoy your weekend xx

I’ve never made cauliflower rice but hope to do so as I don’t eat normal rice. I loved watching Delicious such a great series. Commenting on behalf of Morgana and myself
