September has been a quieter month for us. The weather has been mixed and with F starting school, we’ve had fewer days out than over the summer. F has adjusted to school really well though. She seems to be loving it and making friends easily. This month E has been gaining more and more confidence toddling around. I really can’t remember the last time she crawled.
We started the month how we ended August, in Anglesey. It was a lovely sunny few days with family. We had a day in Beaumaris, my favourite seaside town and a day on the beach. On Sunday the weather was much cooler and it felt like summer was over. Sure enough, we’ve not had any summer days since. I love summer days & I was reluctant to give up on an “Indian summer” but it’s definitely autumn now. We’ve at least had some mild and dry days this week which is a nice change from the majority of wet September days. Luckily I enjoy autumn too, I shared our family autumn bucket list last week packed full of inspiration.
The next couple of weekends were quiet with visiting family and F had her first two school friend birthday parties which she loved. The weather improved this past week and we had a couple of visits to the local woods (one at the weekend and one on one of my mid-week days off, just me, E & my mum). We made a start on our autumn bucket list by collecting acorns, pine cones and conkers.
On the last day of September, we went to see Mr Bloom live. It was only a short, free show but both girls loved it. It was also their first trip to the theatre. I definitely want to take F more now. It was difficult keeping E in one place for that long. She was fine during the singing but the rest of the time she was trying to escape! October is going to be a busy but fun month for us. It is both mine and my husband’s birthday and we have a trip to the Lake District booked for half term. Not to mention something planned for one day of every weekend.

For a quieter month you certainly managed to pack a lot of fun in! The girls look like they’re adjusting to F starting school, it’s great that F’s settled in nicely and E’s enjoying some more Mummy-time. That forest looks like any child’s dream adventure playground, I can’t wait to see some more of your autumnal bucketlist adventures there!
