This week started well with Friday morning a playgroup followed by a Macmillian coffee morning cake sale at school. We had a busy but fun weekend which I have shared plenty of below. My working week was going well until E woke in the early hours of Wednesday morning being sick. After getting next to no sleep and with a poorly little girl on my hands I had to ring in work and explain. That’s the downside of being a working mum, whatever you do you feel guilty. If you need to stay home you feel bad to your boss/colleagues and if you go in you feel bad for your child.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings here are my little loves from this week.
This month I have been featured in the love my books newsletter. A couple of months back they sent me a copy of The something which I read with F and we did some activities based on it. You can find out more on their website
On Wednesday I shared 7 inspiring autumn children’s books that we are enjoying reading.
Mr Bloom live. We took the girls to watch him do a short show at the theatre in a nearby town. They both really enjoyed it and were clapping and dancing along to all the songs. E isn’t one to stay still so we did have some trouble keeping her happy and in one place! I’m definitely keen to take F to more theatre shows but I think we will leave E with her grandparents instead for a while yet.
I’ve been watching You baby me mummy’s Facebook 5 minute motivations and learning so much from them. Any other bloggers enjoying them?
It was my husbands birthday on Sunday so F helped me bake him a cake on Saturday afternoon. We made a delicious chocolate and vanilla marble bundt cake.
F also made lots of things at forest school. She made a dream catcher, a clay face, a volcano, rain cloud in a jar, leaf print wall hanging and a chocolate orange muffin that was cooked on the campfire. She absolutely adores forest school. I wish you could see the look of excitement on her face. When asked what she likes least about forest school her answer was “going home”.
I’m going to hand this section over to F who wore her waterproofs for forest school. It was certainly a lot muddier than we went in the spring/summer! I adore this colourful outfit. I think she’ll need a warmer coat though soon.
I also wore my wellies too but soon discovered a hole when my foot became very wet. Any recommendations for affordable but reliable adult wellies?
Sorry can’t think of anything for here this week.
And lastly …
We’ve got a busy weekend ahead so let’s hope E is better and no one else gets ill. I hope you all have a nice weekend. I’ll be back on Monday with a preschool toy review and giveaway.
