Autumn is really in full swing now. November starts with bonfire night, one of my favourites, I love fireworks. I’m hoping we will get to a local display. We’ve had trouble in previous years with our kids not liking the noise but then I found these kids ear defenders and it makes for a much more enjoyable outing. Of course, November also means our minds are starting to turn to Christmas so this month I have added a section at the end with all my gift guides from last year and I’ll add this year’s ones when they are published too.
Below are some of my posts that are most relevant for November. I have lots of content that I am hoping to get out this month so keep popping back for more seasonal activities to do with your kids. Better yet scroll to the bottom and join me for my weekly bonus email full of seasonal content straight to your inbox or how about joining my facebook group Nurture Nature Kid’s – let’s play outside. We’re building a lovely group of parents who enjoy spending time outdoors with kids and love to share inspiration with each other.
November outdoor kid’s activity inspiration
The weather usually starts to make getting outside with kids a little harder but we still manage to get out plenty at this time of year. I find the key is good waterproof and warm clothing. We bought my eldest these gorgeous rainbow puddle busters last autumn and they have been worn so much. I can’t recommend them enough. Time outside in November might be as simple as going on a family walk (and I have lots of tips for keeping kids happy on a walk), collecting conkers or going on days out.
I have a few blog posts that you might find useful.
November on the bookshelves
I love reading seasonal books with my children. I share my favourite autumn books for kids in this post but you might also be looking to pick up a few Christmas books ahead of the festive season, especially if like me you are planning a book advent calendar. So if you’re looking for inspiration then click the images below.
November ideas for creating and playing
There are lots of opportunities for craft and play in autumn. I’ve also got some posts coming up this month filled with inspiration for festive fun. In the meantime, these posts may be useful.
If you are starting your Christmas shopping then I have lots of ideas for you. I love wooden toys, toys that promote imaginative play, STEM skills and creativity as well as books and gifts to encourage a love of reading and of course of nature and spending time outdoors.
