There are so many November activities for kids based on things to do and celebrations. November starts with bonfire night, one of my favourites, I love fireworks so that’s something to look forward to early in the month. Then later in the month Christmas celebrations will start to creep in. This post is part of my series of posts on Seasonal activities for kids.
Of course, November also means our minds are starting to turn to Christmas so this month I have added a section at the end with all my gift guides from last year and I’ll add this year’s ones when they are published too. Below are some of my posts that are most relevant for November.

November is a fantastic month for autumn activities for kids.
November in the garden
The weather usually starts to make getting outside with kids a little harder but we still manage to get out plenty at this time of year. I find the key is good waterproof and warm clothing.
The gardening year is starting to wind down but you can still plant garlic, clear beds ready for next year’s planting or start a compost heap. Make sure your garden is ready for winter with these top tips – How to prepare your garden for winter.
November is also a good time to start thinking about encouraging wildlife to your garden.

November outdoor activities
It’s starting to get colder and getting kids outside becomes more of an effort but there are still so many good reasons to get children outside more.
Time outside in November might be as simple as going on a family walk (and I have lots of ideas for things to do on a walk with kids), collecting conkers or going on days out.

I love reading seasonal books with my children. I share my favourite autumn books for kids in this post.

November ideas for creating and playing
There are lots of opportunities for craft and play in autumn. You might like to start by getting some inspiration from our family autumn bucket list.
Put all those autumn leaves your children are collecting to good use by doing some autumn process art.
